Our favorite:Flex One Folding Chairs by MityLite

MityLite is what we choose after going through the reviews of dozens of folding chairs, we considered five, and called in the top models to check for structure and comfort. After using them in our homes and offices for more than a year—we highly recommend you to try MityLite Flex One Folding chair.

Mitylite Flex One Folding Chair

The MityLite Flex One is among the most durable folding chairs with comfy seat made of 18-8 steel and flexible polypropylene that conform to your spine and thighs while holding more than 1, 000 lbs.

Specifications

It is an inches and half wider than your regular folding chairs, and in accordance with the majority of client reviewers, it is very comfortable even after hours of sitting. The MityLite Flex One comes in white and black colors.

Regardless of the excess width, every seat folds up into a super slender 4¾, inches, and while the specs record a weight of 11 pounds, I measured only about 7½, pounds for one seat on my home scale.

Consequently, these chairs are simple to move and store. What sets this seat apart from the competition is a wide seat and back with a bit of give, allowing for a few bounce.

The tall, 9 inches backrest offers plenty of support. Since the seat and the back are made from a plastic mesh, you do not need to worry about searing your upper thighs or sticking to the seat with sweaty back if you are using it in the summertime.

MityLite Folding Chair Ratings

This MityLite seat becomes impressive, near five star ratings on the Amazon and Sam’s Club websites, where the owners rave about how comfy and light-weight it is.

Amazon provides a 10 year guarantee, while Sam’s Club provides a one year limited guarantee. At $20 to $30 per seat, the Flex One is more than twice the price of the cheapest folding models, however we think it is worth the expense, particularly if you reside in a little home and do not have storage room for occasional guest chairs.

I have had these chairs in my apartment for supper party escape, and they have held up beautifully for over a year, without scuffing my soft bamboo floors or making screeching noises like cafeteria grade metal folding chairs. We have also used several as emergency seats for our New York office going on four decades.

They have held up well, and our team carries on to see them comfy.

Flaws But Not Disqualifying:

This might not be a chair that you wish to get for daily usage. The few one star online reviews come from individuals who whine about the seating material tearing or breaking.

Given how flexible the chair is, we do not recommend standing on one whenever you need to achieve a high place like the reviewer did. However, we have used half a dozen of them at our NY office, largely as additional desk chairs, and none of us ended up with a broken chair.

The Competitor Folding Chairs Brand:

We searched for reviews of folding chairs, and nearly all of them focus on the appearance of the chairs, which is fair enough.

Terje By ikea folding chair

ikea folding chair

The Terje By ikea folding chair , for instance, gets nods from multiple reviewers for its competitive price and Scandinavian looks. We tested MityLite Flex One against IKEA folding chair “Terje” for comfort and Flex One appeared like a winner, hands down. Terje’s seat is 2 inches narrower than the Flex One’s, with no give, and the back of the chair presses uncomfortably into the occupant’s back.
